The Leader in Me is a whole school transformation process by Franklin Covey. It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child has potential.
The Leader in Me is also aligned to many national and state academic standards. The process teaches students the skills needed for academic success in any setting. These skills include critical thinking, goal setting, listening and speaking, self-directed learning, presentation-making and the ability to work in groups.

Roan Forest Elementary was honored with Lighthouse Status during the Leader in Me Symposium on January 22, 2019. Roan Forest is the first school in the Johnson Cluster to receive Lighthouse Status. We have been most recently recognized as a Lighthouse School of Academic Distinction.
We are excited to announce that Roan Forest Elementary joins an elite group of 278 schools across the U.S. to receive this recognition.
